“No story lives unless someone wants to listen. The stories we love best do live in us forever.”
Shwd mae? I'm Andy. I'm a digital content producer, storyteller, writer, artist, knit and crochet designer and teacher, and ASMRtist.
I’ve worked in the third sector for nearly ten years, predominantly in communications. I’ve done everything from managing a charity’s social media accounts and website, to writing all press releases and pitching stories to the media. In that varied role I managed volunteers and a network of campaign supporters, and worked closely with the charity’s members; all this really developed my understanding of comms, both external and internal.
In my last role I collected the stories of people affected by cancer, and tell them using words, photographs and film. I support every part of the organisation by showing real stories from real people, sharing the stories that are shared with me. I wrote content for e-comms, newsletters, web and social. I worked closely with the charity’s supporters to raise awareness of the charity and its work, and to generate income – the content I created, whether in written or film form, was used extensively by the fundraising team.
I now work in the civil service, running social media accounts and websites. I also do a lot of design work, so I'm comfortable with the Adobe suite.
In my spare time I make little films and take big pictures, and I do some pro-bono work for charities, non-profits, and independents.
Telling stories is my passion.
